Boy are we looking good. It's great seeing the 3rd and 4th lines stepping up. I think someone obviously told Buffy that he was too soft to be on Team USA, he took 7 min in penalties, a fight and a roughing penalty in the 1st period.
Imagine if you are the other team, and say, I'm going to shut down the Kane/Toews/Brower line......if you can achieve that, then we bring out the Hossa, Sharp...guys like Frazier and Kopetchky are even playing well of late. I would hate to play us. We will beat you 7-1 if you want to run and gun, or 1-0 if you want to pack it in. Either way we'll out shoot you 40-20.
I'm getting really excited as this season unfolds, anyone else?

Sure this is shaping up to
Sure this is shaping up to be a great season. I'm wondering what the total points will be by season end. As far as the lines stepping up, it's great that they're getting more ice time due to 1st/2nd lines not having to stress so hard for wins. Not that I'm being cocky about wins or insurance goals, but when a coach can rest his top players and give others more mins, it bodes well for all. Especially towards the end of the season.

My only concern
is because I have a photographic memory, and I remember a VERY similar team back in '91-92 that not only tore through the season, but kept shredding teams in the playoffs-until they hit the finals and were swept in all of those agonizingly close games. Playoff experience really is a big part of the equation-are there enough guys who know how hard it can be and still push through? On the other hand, this team has more youth and stamina than the '91 Hawks but has just as much skill and that certainly works in their favor! At the very least this team of 'kids' does have the experience of last years' playoff run to use as a standard, and now adds a little more experience. I personally hope that there's not a big trade coming, and I held my breath at practice yesterday when some of the boys didn't show up, texting to make sure they were still 'with us'.
Bottom line, I have to be honest and tell you that I didn't think anybody could stop the '91 Hawks and at the same time remind everyone that the '61 Hawks came from nowhere (in comparison of season to season records) to win the Cup! It's an interesting phenomenon, so rather than predict and hope, I'm just savoring the feeling of every dominating win and comparing that to all those years of frustration!!! Oh ya....it's muuuuuuch better!!!
Go Hawks!!!!
