Welcome, old friends and new visitors!
The web address, www.artsbit.com has been the home for the Tibstra Studio for decades. Many people know me for my work with professional sports and my thirty year association with the Chicago Blackhawks and the National Hockey League. Many others may remember me as their art teacher in the suburbs of Chicago or the farm fields surrounding Kankakee, Illinois. No matter how you got here, I hope you enjoy something you see on the site! You can visit galleries of artwork ranging in subject from sports illustrations to vintage-style pinup art, and ranging in media from graphite drawing to acrylic paint. Just for fun I've added galleries of some of my other collections, including vintage transistor radios and toys from the 1950's and 60's. I particularly appreciate the design aesthetic of my childhood, and enjoy finding mid-century modern architecture, housewares and space-age design wherever I can find it! Although retired (as of 2017) I continue to draw and paint and will occasionally take on interesting commissions.
